John- "They Say I'm Greedy!"
News flash! Stop the presses for this story on John, money,
fame ̶ and more! It's a shocker!
Article from Star Time Magazine
If you had to name all John's possessions, could you? Well, he has a magnificent mansion in Surrey,
a number of cars, including a Rolls Royce that contains all the comforts of home ̶ and more. He has a
wardrobe fir for a king and about a million other luxuries too numerous to mention. And each new day
brings him more money to buy more things for himself and family.
"Sure," John admitted. "I like to buy things as long as I have money. Who wouldn't? But does that make me greedy?"
According to some people, it does. Those people point to John's home and cars and shake their heads sadly.
"He's getting carried away with his money," they say. "He's spending so much now that he'll br broke in two years. Greedy,
that's what he is!"
John used to get angry when he heard things like that. But now he takes them calmly, sort-of "in his stride." He shrugs
them off with some comments of his own.
"What should I do with me money?" he asked. "Would they like it if I just let it 'collect?' If I did that, they'd call me a miser!
You just can't win, can you?"
As John continued talking about this problem, other thoughts came out. And one of them was especially interesting.
"Besides," John was saying, "I am greedy, I guess. But not for what they think. I'm not greedy for what my money buys me ̶ but for the things that actually bring the money in!"
John was talking about success, fame, importance, world attention, world recognition and the feeling of true accomplishment. Those things help to
bring in the money, but they're far more important to John than the money itself.
"I work hard for what I get," John told us. "And I won't say that the money doesn't come in handy. But am I greedy for it ̶ no! I'm more greedy about having people know
I work hard and having them think I do have a good job. That's my satisfaction... that's what I work for!"
In the past few years, John's had plenty "fuel" to feed his "fire of greed." There are very few critics left who don't admit, at least, that The Beatles' songs are good,
though they may not care for the boys personally. But is this enough for John?
"No," he said. "They say I'm greedy ̶ and they're right. But maybe me kind of greed forces me to do a better job every time I try something. I don't think that's bad. Do you?"
We think it's good. Don't you?
